NIGHTRIDERS

The NightRiders have a rich history dating back to 1910. They were an intrepid band of skiers who blazed most of the first ski trails in the Gatineau Park.

high performance night riders (circa 1910) masters/seniors ski programme - with Dave & Lise

The high-performance masters/seniors racing program is designed to mentor serious nordic skiers through specific dry-land and on-snow conditioning.

The high performance program offers:

Although NightRiders train every day, formal group practices are scheduled in the Gatineau Park every:

  • Tuesday night 6:30pm - Short Intervals
  • Sunday morning 9:00am - Technical sessions are integrated with a long slow distance training session and emphasizes learning skills though mentoring.

Practice locations updates are posted on www.trirudy.com under group training.

* Bring ski equipment, running shoes, watch, food and water.

On-line registration is open now only $200/year or Drop-in one (1) session fee is $20, to be paid on site.

Levels and Abilities:
The dryland sessions do not require any previous experience with skiing.

The Roller-skiing and On Snow sessions can be done in either classic or skating techniques but there is a minimum standard. We require skiers to have at least INTERMEDIATE ability level. The night riders masters/seniors will be following a 500hr/yr High Performance Program for intermediate to elite skiers.. In real terms this means: a skier must to be able to ski continuously across the terrain in the Gatineau Park for one (1) hour; a skier must be able to sustain a warm-up pace of 10kph for 30 minutes; a good rule of thumb is that a skier should be able to ski as fast as they can run; there must not be any medical condition which would preclude a skier from doing intense interval sessions.
