ORGANIZATION OF NORDIC SKIING PROFESSIONALS
| The Organization of Nordic Skiing Professionals (NSP) is a cross-certification for the sport of Nordic skiing performers, formed in 1986. The cross-certification requires and integrated practical and theory based examination based upon the international Nordic Skiing Project Common Body of Knowledge (CBK) that covers: Pedagogy, Training methods, Biomechanics, Technique and Equipment. In addition candidates must demonstrate their level personal proficiency / skills skiing on snow, over all-terrain and conditions. This certification is a recognized certification for 'stunt' talent/performers and the film insurance industry, and one of the few cross-certifications that combines all competencies in nordic skiing. It is not NCCP. Read about the teaching and certification philosophy. Coaching - Experience administering high-performance training programs and sports management. Instruction - Demonstrable skills in technique and pedagogical knowledge. Mentoring - Imprinting skills through actively led participation in high-performance training. Performer - Wide spectrum of personal competencies for competition or show. The Organization of Nordic Skiing Professionals (NSP) is not meant to either compete with, or replace, existing certification schemes such as the NCCP, CANSI, USSA and PSIA. The offering is produced as part of the Nordic Ski Project. We strongly encourage instructors and coaches to participate in these programs. The Organization of Nordic Skiing Professionals provides a benchmark for a harmonized cross-certification scheme, by recognizing other National Certifications, university degrees and competitive experience of athletes. The NSP cross-certification was required to:
Go to the guide to Nordic Ski Professional cross-certification standards, and try out the practice exam. The Nordic Skiing Professional Certification recognizes reciprocity (equivalency) of other National Certifications: |
