The film making of XCZONE.TV experiments with contracting styles of cinéma vérité and escapism to develop tension, stylized rhythm, and inertia. It employs a unique skill-set; combining athleticism and artistry by placing the camera in the same hands as those personally engaged in the experience. The in-action tracking cinematography makes clear the distinction between involvement and commitment for the filmmaking..

XCZONE.TV uses Digital IMAX RED Epic Dragon Professional Cinema cameras capable of capturing the action at 6K resolution and up to 960fps for super slow motion. Our capabilities also include motion control, time lapse, High Dynamic Range Imagery (HDRI), 3D and unique steadicam skills.

Our award-winning productions have played at the 2010 Olympics, in theatres around the world and in space on the International Space Station. Five DVD titles have gone "best seller."

XCZONE.TV Film Studios

We specialize in high impact film productions depicting clean oxygen fed sport for theatres, home DVD video entertainment, documentaries, event coverage, training and commercial product promotion or athlete promotional packages and multimedia presentations. Whether it is fast-moving action in extreme outdoor conditions, or within a studio environment. XCZONE is a vertically integrated production company managing all stages of a project (concept to delivery).

PRE-PRODUCTION involves the tasks which ought to occur before filming begins. Good initial research and planning are key factors that can reduce costs throughout subsequent stages of the project, and determine the outcome of the project. Production requirements are identified at the earliest stages. We work closely with the client to articulate the message, style and delivery of the work. The visuals and narrative are developed through the use of story boards, shot lists and scripts.

PRODUCTION Our productions are filmed on cinema quality (35mm) digital video, to produce high quality results at a cost effective price. The equipment is lightweight, unobtrusive and highly mobile. For some awesome shots we can deploy boom-cranes, steadicam and gyros...

HD POST-PRODUCTION is where we craft the final product. The raw footage is transferred directly onto a state-of-the-art non-linear editing (NLE) suite where it is edited and enhanced. Transitions, special effects, 3D animated logos, titling, and sound tracks (music, narration, effects) are added. The product is preserved in high quality digital format throughout the entire production. We can output your product onto the big screen or to DVD, video, broadcast on the web, or for use within a presentation.

PACKAGING DESIGN We can design a four colour packaging material and arrange for replication and shrink wrapping of the DVD or video in any quantities.

XCZONE Studios provides the power behind the multimedia productions through a state-of-the-art non-linear High Definition digital cinema editing facilities. From post-production web page design, computer graphics, to special audio and visual effects (SFX). All production footage is shot on a professional High Definition cinema cameras at a quality which exceeds current television broadcast standards.

FEATURE FILMS We have completed three feature length independent films. Exposing the subculture of outdoor adventure sports. Showing with best of the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour, finalist at the Montreal Adventure Film Festival and became a best seller on DVD.

DIVERSITY OF PROJECTS

SPACE PROGRAM We produced MotionLab product for the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) and NASA. We produced a series of PoV films running, cycling and skiing through national parks which is used on the International Space Station for astronauts to visualize during exercise sessions.

MUSIC VIDEO We recently teamed with "Canada's Best Undiscovered Songwriter" to produce a music video of for a movie soundtrack.

PRODUCT MARKETING We produced the Sports Drink commercials and promotional video for brand name sports companies. Our studios have provided product placement in films for a number of market leading sports products.

ECO-TOURISM We have produced promotional DVDs clients like Madawaska Canoe Centre, Owl Rafting, Nipika Lodge, Mt. Washington, etc., to play at trade-shows, direct mail and to be used in broadcast.

TV EVENT COVERAGE Our studios produced the television coverage for the 2010 Olympics, National Skiing Championships and Canoe-Kayak championship for prime time broadcast.

MULTIMEDIA DESIGN Arctic Watch, The World's Northernmost resort, turned to us to design and build a multimedia CD-ROM promotional package. The task involved substantial video editing, narrative, photos enhancement and mutimedia creative authoring.

INSTRUCTIONAL DVD-ROM Cross-country Canada, Biathlon Canada collaberated with our company to create the most comprehensive manual on the sport of Nordic Skiing ever produced. The 5 hour double DVD set the standard for instructional technologies, and was adopted by the National Coaching Certification Program.

PORTFOLIOS We produced video portfolios for Olympic Medalists as a marketing instrument for her to gain much needed sponsorship.

WEBSITES We have designed over a hundred web sites since 1991.
STOCK FOOTAGE over 200 hours of unique outdoor sports footage variety of sports terrain, locations, events, all digital. Non-exclusive royalty free $20/sec world wide broadcast or commercial use distribution 5 years $20/sec + cost of transfer and editing. OR $100/min for interstitial programming. WEB DEVELOPMENT We have been one of the first sites on the web site since (1991) pretty much anything you see, we can do. A recognized expert in e-business security. We have developed and managed high profile sites.
